In 1974, local attractions and activities throughout the Pikes Peak region came together in partnership to create Pikes Peak Country Attractions Association (PPCAA) in response to the gas shortage and oil embargo that was creating a challenge to tourism that year. Since then, PPCAA has been promoting the Pikes Peak region to millions of traveling and local visitors to the area annually. Members of Pikes Peak Country Attractions Association offer services that are family oriented, safe, and representative of the missions and goals of this unique and passionate group of tourism individuals and citizens of the various communities that make up the Pikes Peak region. Pikes Peak Country Attractions Association co-publishes the Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak Region Official Visitors Guide annually, a map of the region and area attractions.

Beginning in May, 2009, PPCAA will be offering the exclusive Pikes Peak Plus Pass on its Web site. When purchased, the Pass offers significant discounts to area attractions, and gives people an easy and quick way to reserve their tickets prior to arriving to the area. Our office is staffed weekly from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday to assist you in any way. PPCAA provides information about all our members. Pikes Peak Country Attractions represents Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Woodland Park, Cripple Creek and Canon City, representing 30 natural and man-made attractions in the Pikes Peak region.

Experience True Colorado —

How many places in the world can offer opportunities to pan for real gold, descend a 14,110-foot peak on a mountain bike, whitewater raft down the Arkansas river, experience an authentic chuck wagon dinner and stage show?

How many places in the world can offer the opportunity to watch Native Americans dancers at authentic Ancestoral Puebloan cliff dwellings, visit a mountain zoo with more than 750 animals, behold the world's highest suspension bridge in Canon City, and even travel to the North Pole where Santa lives year-round?

How many places in the world can offer over 300 days of sunshine annually, yet still have all four seasons?

How many places can proudly and patriotically boast they are home to the Air Force Academy, the United States Olympic Training Center, Fort Carson, Shriever Air Force Base, and, of course, Pikes Peak -- America's Mountain?

How many places in the world can take you 1,000 feet underground and experience the life of the 1890s gold miner?

How many places can you still see the Colorado scenery from aboard an historic train, or perhaps even on horseback from the perspective of old Frontiersman?

The answer is one -- the Pikes Peak region!
