Mesa Lakes Resort is one of the few remaining old fashioned mountain resorts in the state of Colorado. SUMMER ACTIVITIES include row boat rentals on three lakes, plus fishing, hiking, mountain biking (trails to challenge all levels of riders). And you can ride your own ATV right from our resort. In FALL, hunt for deer and elk or photograph the wondrous and colorful autumn scenery and wildlife. WINTER. Both snowmobile trails and cross county ski trails leave right from our resort. We are located only 10 minutes from the Powderhorn ski and snowboard area; money-saving ski packages are available. In winter and spring, enjoy 7 kilometers of groomed cross country ski trails. Pets welcome on ski trails. Cross country ski rentals and lessons are available. Snowshoe rentals and lessons are also available. Cross country ski trails surrounding Mesa Lakes are groomed by Mesa Lakes Resort at no cost to the skiing public. Snowmobile on separate groomed trails; guided tours available. Email or call for a Mesa Lakes Trail System map. Call for details and reservations. A full service RESTAURANT serves a hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner. A small, on-site GIFT STORE sells picnic supplies, hunting and fishing licenses and tackle. ACCOMMODATIONS. Resort offers various rustic-to-modern vacation cabins. Cabins rent by the day or week. Six 2-bedroom modern cabins have double beds, fireplaces, kitchen/living room and bathrooms. For small family reunion or groups a 12 person vacation home has 6 double beds, a fireplace and kitchen. Seven rustic cabins have 2 double beds, a small gas cooking stove, table and chairs; a central bath house is provided as there are no bathrooms in these rustic units. In all cases bedding is furnished, however you must bring your own cooking utensils. The three modern motel units have 1 or 2 rooms, double beds and bathrooms; however there are no cooking facilities. Lodging prices apply year around with occasional specials offered (ask). NEW CAMPGROUND opened in 2006 by the US Forest Service. It is adjacent to the resort. It features electric and water hookups for RVs and also have nice tent camping sites. It has ADA approved trails and bathroom facilities. Mesa Lakes Resort is located 50 minutes east of Grand Junction in Western Colorado. From Grand Junction, access to this mountain resort is on all-weather Grand Mesa Historic and Scenic Byway state highway 65, near milepost 36, 12 miles south of the town of Mesa.
